Keriffe Clark is the interim Director Principal at the National College for Educational Leadership (NCEL), an agency of the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information. In this capacity, he provides strategic and operational direction for the entity as it fulfils its mandate to raise the level and quality of leadership of school and system leaders. In his substantive post, Mr. Clark serves as Senior Director, Programmes, leading the design, development and delivery of training programmes, as well as the assessment and certification for school and system leaders in public educational and supporting institutions. At NCEL, he previously served as programmes officer for five and a half years with direct
responsibility for the management of the Aspiring Principals\u2019 Programme and the Leadership and School Policy course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Mr. Clark has a vast background in education which spans over 14 years. He has teaching experience at the primary level in France, and in Jamaica he has taught at St. Andrew High School for Girls, St. George\u2019s College, Shortwood Teachers\u2019 College, Alliance Fran\u00e7aise de la Jama\u00efque and Northern Caribbean University. Mr. Clark is also an adjunct lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Mona in the areas of curriculum development and teacher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Mr. Clark holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum Development (with distinction) from the University of the West Indies, Mona, both a Bachelor of Education in French Education (with first class honours) and a diploma in teaching, majoring in Spanish and French, from Shortwood Teachers\u2019 College, as well as a diploma in French as a Foreign Language from the International Centre for Pedagogical Studies, France. Through the
Government\u2019s Performance Management and Appraisal System, Mr. Clark has received six consecutive awards for exceptionally high performance and in December 2024, he was awarded the Top Performing Officer in the Ministry of Education for the 2023-2024 financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Mr. Clark is an Erasmus+ scholar who has undertaken research and studies at Daugavpils University in Latvia and he is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in teacher education with a research emphasis on education for sustainable development. He is a published researcher in the areas of teacher education and supervision, education for sustainable development and curriculum reform.
