Keriffe Clark

Programmes Officer

Mr. Keriffe Clark is employed to the National College for Educational Leadership in the capacity of Programmes Officer to provide strategic leadership and management of the Aspiring Principals’ Programme (APP) and the Leadership and School Policy (LSP) course. He has led initiatives such as Leadership Development Webinars and Think Leadership while providing support to other programmes and initiatives developed by the NCEL.

Mr. Clark has amassed over twelve (12) years of experience as an educator, having taught English in three primary schools in France, and Spanish and French at St. Andrew High School for Girls and St. George’s College. Mr. Clark has been a teacher educator since 2016 with experiences in facilitating courses in French Language, French History and Culture, Spanish Language and Foreign Language Pedagogy and Methodology and supervising pre-service teachers during teaching practice. Additionally, Mr. Clark is an adjunct faculty at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona in the areas of curriculum studies and teacher education and he has taught at the Northern Caribbean University, Kingston Campus.

Mr. Clark is a 2022 Erasmus+ Scholar who undertook research work at the Daugavpils University in Latvia and has represented Jamaica at the 11 Policy Dialogue Forum on Teacher Education as the liaison officer attached to the delegation from Togo. Mr. Clark’s academic qualifications include:

  • a Master of Education degree in Curriculum Development, with distinction (University of the West Indies, Mona);
  • a Bachelor of Education degree in French Education with first class honours (Shortwood Teachers’ College);
  • a Diploma in French as a Foreign Language (International Centre of Pedagogical Studies, France); and
  • a Diploma in Education, majoring in Spanish and French (Shortwood Teachers’ College)


Mr. Clark is currently pursuing an MPhil/PhD in Teacher Education with a research emphasis on Education for Sustainable Development. He is a published researcher in the areas of teacher education and supervision and ESD. He has also been engaged as a columnist for The Gleaner and he served as President of the Association of Graduate Researchers in Education (AGRE) at the UWI for four years. Currently, he serves as the Chair for the MPhil/PhD Task Force for the Faculty of Humanities and Education at UWI. Mr. Clark’s research interests include:
Male Gender Education;
Teacher Development and Leadership;
Teacher Education and Supervision; and
Education for Sustainable Development
