The National College for Educational Leadership (NCEL), an agency of the the Ministry of Education and Youth (MoEY), offers a suite of programmes designed to prepare pre- and in-service school leaders for quality leadership to boost an equitable, inclusive and enabling environment for sustainable national development.
The NCEL was established in 2011 with a mandate to provide leadership training and development opportunities for education practitioners in the Jamaican education sector. To fulfill this mandate, the college has partnered with other stakeholders globally, regionally and nationally to implement several programmes with focus areas unique to our local context.
Through our deliberately designed synchronous and asynchronous programme offerings, as well as the design and delivery of various professional development sessions, webinars, blogs and initiatives, school leaders are equipped with the requisite skills to adequately lead and manage critical areas for school and student success. These areas include, instruction, community partnerships and engagements, safety and security, financial management, inclusiveness, school and policy priorities of the MoEY and child-friendly environments, all at globally accepted standards.
The NCEL’s core values, excellence, continuous learning, collaboration and quality service are reflected in the highly qualified, competent, professional, vibrant and customer-oriented staff. Our team members, with years of experience, both locally and internationally, and who are dedicated to national development, are committed to delivering quality service to our stakeholders. Our recent ISO 9001:2015 certification serves as a testament to our commitment to quality.
On behalf of Team Excellence, we welcome you as a part of our mission to create world-class educational leaders!
